Sliced into neat and delicate little rectangles, sandos are as pleasing to look at as they are to eat. These Japanese-style sandwiches are typically made with pillowy soft milk bread holding fillings that pack plenty of flavour.

They can easily set you back at least $10 a meal in Singapore, but we've spotted a new takeaway food kiosk can satisfy your sando cravings on a budget - san.wich.

Created by local halal bakery Swee Heng, san.wich offers affordable savoury and sweet sandos from just $2.80.

They've also taken the sando aesthetic up a notch with bread in pretty hues of purple, red and yellow. These colours are achieved using natural ingredients - sweet potato, beetroot and pumpkin - and aren't just for looks either! The Purple Sweet Potato Loaf contains beta-carotene and antioxidants, the Beetroot Loaf is a source of fibre, vitamins B9 & C, potassium and iron, while the Pumpkin Loaf contains beta carotene, vitamins C & E, iron and folate.

Their sandos are packed into individual containers which makes them a convenient option when you need a quick meal on the go.

There's a variety of savoury sandos including Chili Crab with Egg (S$2.80), Grilled Chicken with Scrambled Egg ($3.20), Spicy Korean Chicken & Kimchi with Egg ($3.20) and Chicken Ham & Cheese with Scrambled Egg ($3).

If you fancy completing your meal with a dessert sando, pick up a Mango or Assorted Fruit Sandwich ($3.20) filled with fresh cream and fruit, or something more indulgent like the Red Velvet Cream Cheese ($3.20) and Kit Kat Brownie Sandwich ($3.20).
